Explore the hidden gems and rich history of Colombo in iconic, open-top vintage military and civilian jeeps. Travel back in time as we visit 15th, 16th, and 17th-century historically important sites including churches, mosques, temples, and hotels. You will ride in classic history, with a fleet featuring the Land Rover Series One, Willys MB used in WW2, M38A1 used in the Vietnam War, and Willys CJ 6 and CJ 8 (famous as the pet jeeps of former USA President Ronald Reagan).
Your journey covers the history of Galle Face and the Galle Face Hotel (featuring ancient pictures), the Old Lighthouse, Maritime Museum, King Rajasinghe's prison cell, and the New Lighthouse of 1835. We will visit the exact location where Duran Duran's hit single "Hungry Like the Wolf" was filmed, Old Chatham Street, the 1846 Old Cargills building, the 17th-century St. Peter's Church, and the rooms where Queen Elizabeth II stayed in 1954 at the GOH.
